Ralph was Able to Achieve 75% Pain Relief with HFX
Ralph is “thrilled to have his life back” after suffering from chronic low back and leg pain for 10 years.
In addition to the pain Ralph was experiencing, his spinal cord compression also caused multi-level instability. There was a point where he was not even able to walk because of the weakness in his leg.
Ralph underwent two surgeries and physical therapy after the second procedure got him walking again with the use of a cane. His pain, however, did not go away.
“Ralph’s pain scores went from 8-9 to 2-3 during the one-week trial.”
Ralph was referred to Dr. William Bentley at Hunterdon Medical Center in Flemington, NJ, who tried multiple rounds of injections to provide relief, but it was only temporary. Dr. Bentley’s next recommendation was for an HFX trial that took place in August 2017.
“Ralph’s pain scores went from 8-9 to 2-3 during the one-week trial,” said Dr. Bentley.
“After his implant in October 2017 he consistently has 75% less pain and no longer needs narcotic pain medication.”
Vacations with his fiancé, dining out and enjoying walks in his community are regular parts of Ralph’s life now. “I couldn’t do any of these things before my HFX implant,” Ralph recalled.
